Artificial Plant Wall|The Sterling
Client needs
CR Land wanted to install an artificial plant wall in the showroom for The Sterling at Silvercord in Tsim Sha Tsui, adding richer botanical elements to the interior space.
The client wanted an overall effect that felt natural and layered, with a more wild, pastoral character, and specified purple flowers as accents.
As the plant wall needed to remain in the property showroom for an extended period, the project used artificial plants and flowers so the installation could maintain a consistent visual effect over time while reducing daily maintenance needs.
On-site installation
Following the established design direction and the on-site structure, we installed ferns, hanging plants and foliage in different forms layer by layer, adjusting the placement, direction and height of each group on site.
Rather than covering the entire wall evenly with plants, we retained the natural outward-reaching and cascading forms of the different plants. Variations in foliage size, texture and shades of green make the overall effect closer to the natural, wild pastoral feel the client hoped to create.
The purple artificial flowers specified by the client were interspersed among the different green leaves as occasional accents, avoiding a look that was too uniform or contrived.
As the angle, density and layering of each group of plants needed to be adjusted in real time according to the on-site effect, the final composition also took shape gradually during the installation process.
The on-site installation of the approximately 2 m high × 2 m wide artificial plant wall was completed in around half a day.
Finished result
The completed plant wall creates depth with an abundance of cascading ferns, vines and green foliage in varied textures. Purple flowers are scattered throughout, adding subtle colour variation to the expanse of green.
Artificial plants are particularly well suited to commercial spaces where displays need to remain in place for longer periods. In addition to property showrooms, they can be used for brand activations, retail stores, corporate spaces and other settings that require long-term floral or botanical installations.
